Hi, I'm Rachel. I am a licensed psychotherapist with more than a decade of experience providing individual and family therapy to adults, children and adolescents. I have worked in community mental health and school based settings with adults, children and families from various backgrounds, struggling with a range of experiences from complex trauma to difficult life transitions. In addition to private practice work, I provide clinical supervision at an outpatient mental health clinic.

I am a cisgender woman of Eastern European Jewish descent. I welcome clients of any background, faith, ethnicity, ability, gender and sexual orientation. I am mindful in utilizing culturally sensitive care, considering intersectional identities and acknowledging the ecological stressors placed primarily on folks who identify as part of a systemically marginalized culture or status.

I believe that resilience and the capacity to change are essential parts of being human. The social element of human nature allows us to heal best in relationship with others. I will seek to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to express your thoughts and concerns while feeling truly seen and heard.

I received my masters degree and training from Simmons University, in Boston MA. I work mainly from an attachment-based and psychodynamic theoretical approach and I have formal training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy and Pain in the Heart Healing Theory (a model developed and taught by Dr. Pamela Parkinson, PhD, LCSW). I also incorporate elements of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral-Therapy (CBT).

I was born and raised in the Bay Area where I continue to live with my husband and two children. My home is located on the ancestral and unceded land of the Ohlone people. I enjoy reading, making art, being in nature and spending time with family and friends.
